HRVATSKI GEOLOŠKI INSTITUT je 31. srpnja 2026. godine završio aktivnosti na infrastrukturnom projektu „Obnova infrastrukture i nabava instrumenata u Hrvatskom geološkom institutu – Geoznanstveni laboratoriji (GEOLAB)“ referentne oznake NPOO.C3.2-I2.04.0001. U okviru projekta GEOLAB u razdoblju provedbe od 28. veljače 2025. do 31. srpnja 2026. godine sredstvima EUROPSKE UNIJE kroz Nacionalni plan oporavka i otpornost 2021.-2026. – NextGenerationEU, u vrijednosti od 7.408.540,66 eura, provedene su aktivnosti obnove i prilagodbe prostora Hrvatskog geološkog instituta i njihovo opremanje laboratorijskim namještajem i znanstveno-tehnološkom opremom.
Vlada Republike Hrvatske donijela Nacionalni program istraživanja kritičnih sirovina 2026.-2030.
