MISSION

Croatian Geological Survey is the only geological scientific research institution which performs systematic and standardized geological research (geological mapping, hydrogeological, engineering geological and geochemical research, defining the potential of mineral and geothermal resources) and collects geological data on the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia in the field of natural and technical sciences.

Our mission is to acquire new knowledge and positioning as the leading scientific center in the field of geology and geological engineering following internationally recognized research practices and standards and respecting the development priorities of the Republic of Croatia.

Our mission is realized through:

• fundamental and applied scientific research
• reproducing of geological maps of all types, purposes and scales with explanatory notes and associated databases for territory of the Republic of Croatia (land and underwater)
• Leading a geological service as a public service for collecting, valorisation, storage and distribution of all types of geological data to the economy, local and state administration, the scientific community and to the public
• Participation in domestic and international scientific and professional projects
• cooperation with state and local administration, public companies and economic operators
• dissemination of knowledge and education.
