EMODnet Geology Project Participants Meeting in Iceland
The final meeting of phase 5.2 of the EMODnet geology group was held in June 2025. A meeting organized by the Iceland Geological Survey (ÍSOR) in Reykjavik gathered 55 delegates from 27 countries and 32 organisations who attended to discuss final activities for the project that ends in September 2025. The following phase of the project is currently being evaluated. Slobodan Miko and Ozren Hasan attended the meeting as representatives of HGI-CGS.
The EMODnet Geology aims to collect and harmonize existing marine geology data. Geology portal consolidates the existing data products to make them accessible to users. These data include sea-floor geology, seabed substrates, rates of coastline migration, geological events and probabilities, mineral resources and submerged landscapes. Users can investigate and search for borehole and grab sample data, seismic survey data, and multibeam survey data using interactive maps and tools. The data is available for all European seas, as well as for the Caribbean and the Caspian Sea. More details about the project are available athttps://emodnet.ec.europa.eu/en/geology
