dr. sc. Marina Filipović i dr. sc. Igor Karlović, urednici

The new Annual report of the HGI-CGS for the year 2025 has been released and is available at the following link: https://www.hgi-cgs.hr/godisnjaci-hgi/.

The concept of the report follows a long-standing tradition, presenting the work conducted at HGI-CGS in the previous year through thematic chapters and the Introduction by the Director.

The chapter HGI-CGS: organisation, numbers and facts provides data on the organisational structure, employees, budget, research infrastructure, departments of HGI-CGS and the Geological Survey.

Work on the basic geological mapping projects during 2025, and the plan for 2026, is described in the Geological mapping programme section. Subsequently, the projects implemented during 2025 are listed according to their funding sources (Horizon Programme, Croatian Science Foundation, European Union funds, and commercial projects). Selected projects funded by different mechanisms were presented. The Events section describes the work of the Geoscience hour, Croatian Science Foundation Mobility Programme of senior assistants, and the Annual awards 2024.

The Publications section presents the work of the journal Geologia Croatica and bibliography of scientific papers published by the Institute’s staff during 2025, as well as a list of professional publications produced in that year. In the Doctoral theses chapter, the thesis of colleagues Nikola Gizdavec, Ana Kamenski, Matko Patekar and Nina Trinajstić are briefly presented.
