Laboratory for preparation of mineralogical-petrographic and paleontological samples

In the laboratory for the preparation of mineralogical-petrographic and paleontological analyses, separation with heavy liquids is performed, and preparations are made for modal analyses of light and heavy mineral fractions, complete preparation of hard and soft slurries, preparation for palynological analyses, analyses of nanoplankton and diatoms, preparation for radiolarian analyses, and sample fragmentation. Within the laboratory, preparation of rock samples is also carried out (cutting, polishing, impregnation of loose samples in resin), as well as the production of microscopic slides, precise shaping and polishing of plates for petrographic and paleontological slides.
