Ove vulkansko-sedimentne sukcesije predstavljaju najsjevernije dijelove Dinarida. Dobivena izotopna starost <sup>40<\/sup>Ar\/<sup>39<\/sup>Ar (243\u00b11,8 Ma) ukazuje na gornjoanizi\u010dku starost bazaltne erupcije i generalno je u skladu s dobivenim donjoladini\u010dkim biostratigrafskim starostima proslojenih sedimentnih stijena. Istra\u017eene kalcijsko-alkalijske bazaltne lave nastale su: (i) parcijalnim taljnjem niskog stupnja (5-14%) plitkog (facijes stabilnosti spinela; maksimalna dubina \u00bb33 km)\u00a0 magmatskog izvori\u0161ta u subkontinentalnom litosfernom pla\u0161tu i (ii) frakcijskom kristalizacijom u djelomi\u010dno otvorenom magmatskom sustavu. Stvaranje magme tako\u0111er je uklju\u010divalo: (i) taljevinu iz subducirane plo\u010de, koja je vjerojatno povezana s drevnom, subduciranom oceanskom korom Paleotetisa, (ii) u manjem obimu, prethodno subducirani kontinentalni materijal kore &#8211; sedimente reciklirane u pla\u0161tnom klinu, i (iii) u zanemarivom stupnju doprinos iz osiroma\u0161enog ili oceansko-oto\u010dnog, bazaltu sli\u010dnog pla\u0161ta. Ovi uvjeti sugeriraju da se magma formirala kroz slo\u017een proces tijekom uspona magme kroz tektonski oslabljene zone kore. Iako je intenzivna efuzivna vulkanska aktivnost tijekom srednjeg trijasa u Sjeverozapadnom hrvatskom trijaskom riftnom bazenu trajala relativno kratko (\u00bb3-4 milijuna godina), njezina geodinamska evolucija bila je slo\u017eena i mo\u017ee se pripisati: (i) subdukciji Paleotetiske litosfere povezane s ensiali\u010dnim vulkanskim lukom razvijenim u aktivnom kontinentalnom rubnom okru\u017eenju i (ii) procesima kontinentalnog riftanja du\u017e srednjotrijaskih rubova Adrija plo\u010de, tj.
