sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Objavljen je znanstveni rad u \u010dasopisu Journal of Palaeogeography pod naslovom &#8221;Mammal-bearing Pleistocene deposits, Vrani\u0107, southwestern Pannonian Basin System&#8221;. Rad je rezultat suradnje znanstvenika Hrvatskoga geolo\u0161kog instituta, RGNF-a i Veterinarskog fakulteta Sveu\u010dili\u0161ta u Zagrebu te kolega iz drugih institucija u EU.<\/p>\n<p>Lokalitet Vrani\u0107 je napu\u0161teni pjeskokop debljine oko 30 m koji se nalazi na ju\u017enim obroncima Papuka. Od dna do vrha pjeskokopa opisane su 3 litolo\u0161ki razli\u010dite jedinice: masivni pijesak (Jedinica 1) s klastima \u0161ljunka, blokovima lapora te obiljem fosilnih ostataka morskih sisavaca i riba; sub-horizontalni, uslojeni pijesak (Jedinica 2) u izmjeni sa siltom, glinom i \u0161ljunkom; i erozijski, klastpotporni konglomerati (Jedinica 3) na samom vrhu sukcesije. Bazni dio Jedinice 1 sadr\u017ei brojne, pretalo\u017eene ostatke fosilnih kosti morskih sisavaca badenske starosti. \u00a0Taj fosilni sadr\u017eaj u masivnom pijesku Jedinice 1 ukazuje na jaku eroziju prije talo\u017eenja. Metodom kozmogenih nuklida odre\u0111ena je starost pijeska Jedinice 1 na 895 \u00b1 211 tisu\u0107a godina, \u0161to odgovara granici donjeg i srednjeg pleistocena. Erozija uzrokovana klimatskim kolebanjima dogodila se na po\u010detku interglacijala, vjerojatno u MIS 21 stadiju. Tektonika i klimatske promjene uzrokovali su izdizanje padine i istovremeno stvaranje akomodacijskog prostora za erodirane pijeske. U Jedinici 3, neorganizirani i lo\u0161e sortirani \u0161ljunak ukazuje na novi ciklus sedimentacije i sediment koji definirmo kao koluvij.<\/p>\n<p>Istra\u017eivanje fosilnih ostataka s nalazi\u0161ta Vrani\u0107 dovelo je do zaklju\u010dka da svi fosili kitova uzorkovani u Jedinici 1 potje\u010du od odontoceta, vjerojatno kentriodontida.
