Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones)
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) are aircraft that can be remotely controlled or fly independently, using a pre-programmed flight plan or complex autonomous dynamic systems. An ultralight aircraft (<250 g) type DJI Mavic Mini More Combo equipped with a 12 MP camera and can be used to record a flight lasting about 30 minutes. It is used for photographing terrain, especially those that are difficult to access. It is controlled by a mobile device and the DJI FLY app, and can be operated by anyone with basic knowledge of using drones.
The DJI Phantom 4 RTK aircraft is equipped with a 20 MPX RGB camera and is used for the creation of DEM bases, i.e. terrain photogrammetry. It is equipped with an RTK system, which makes it possible to obtain very precise location data, with a maximum factory deviation of up to ±4 cm. With an additional four batteries, a longer duration of flight time is possible, and the maximum flight height is up to 100 m.
The devices are operated by employees who are registered with the Croatian Air Navigation Control.
